Final Editorial

Although the headline sounds a bit pathetic, my reasons for freezing the website are quite down to earth. There are a whole lot of things going on in my life which simply don't leave enough freetime to care about several websites. I will still work on my "real" website www.spaceman.de, mainly by adding various study projects at the end of this semester. I'm also working on one last Re-Volt track, you can check out a couple of screenshots here.

So what does this decision mean to you? First of all: nothing. Because nothing will change. The website will still be available in the state it is in now and most likely this won't change for the next 1-2 years. For those of you who eagerly await updates and tutorials on the site... well, bad luck. Updating the site wouldn't only mean to do some cosmetic changes here and there. In fact I would need to completely overdo the whole site because almost every info on it is totally out of date. Most track makers don't rely that much on the lego editor anymore (which is a good step!) and so I would need to turn the Workbench from a "track editor site" to an "ingame editor site" in order to keep it interesting and up to date.

One please from me: do not email me anymore with questions about Re-Volt in general or track making in special. I won't take the time to answer them anymore. This is not to upset you, it's just that I have a lot of daily mail traffic going on for university and I'm so busy with it that I don't find the time to answer game related questions. You can still ask your questions over at Racerspoint Forum or visit RVExtreme for infos on the ingame editor. I'm also not going to update my link site anymore, so it will be useless to ask me for a link exchange. All my older tracks as well as the new one will be available at RHQ since the website is now launched again. Keep in mind that I released 10 tracks so far, not only the 7 available on this site.

So what is left to say? Well, I hope you still have fun in the game, although the general interest in it is shrinking. A lot of "old schoolers" drew back from the scene but on the other hand there are always new folks showing up and it's good to see that they're all amazed by this great game. I for one will still be hanging around at Racerspoint and in the Re-Volt related chat rooms and you will hear from me again when my final track hits the stores.

Cheers,

Marc
